Support RSPCA Derby & District with your Will For Good
Over the years, legacy gifts to RSCPA Derby & District have helped build and maintain Abbey Street Animal Rehoming Centre. Today, these gifts are as vital as ever, allowing the Centre to upgrade animal accommodation, invest in new initiatives and help more animals than ever before.
Some of the gifts RSPCA Derby & District has received to date have funded the building of an intake room for the cats that find themselves at Abbey Street through no fault of their own. The intake room provides a calm and quiet area where the Animal Care Team can assess the cats before they are made available for adoption. One of the Centre’s kennel blocks has been refurbished and a quarantine area has been added. This enables us to look after dogs that are poorly when they arrive with us.
RSPCA Derby & District is an independently funded branch, with weekly running costs of £10,000. The Centre relies on legacies, donations and fundraising to continue looking after the dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and small furry creatures in its care. Around 1,000 animals are rehomed each year after they have been rescued and rehabilitated. The Centre's vet costs alone are over £60,000 each year.
